Job Description

The News Editorial Intern provides support to the show production teams, assisting with cutting videos, building graphics, learning to produce basic show segments and/or guest booking. This role is ideal for university undergraduates aspiring to explore a career in TV news production and journalism. You have keen interests and passion in business, economics, and financial markets. There will also be opportunities to learn about business and markets, as well as the fundamentals of journalism.

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Work with video editors to cut videos to match news scriptsWrite sample scripts for TV newsTranscribe live interviewsBuild graphics using CNBC’s in-house applications and liaise with the Graphics team for guidancePrepare elements such as video clips, lower-thirds, soundbites etc for show segmentsEfficiently manage the teleprompter for on-air talents during live programmingBeing involved in creation of show segments – share, discuss and/or pitch ideas

QualificationsUniversity undergraduates majoring in business, economics, mass communication and/or media productionKeen interest in business news, economics, and financial marketsAbility to prioritize a variety of tasks while operating under tight deadlinesAbility to work in a face-paced, high-tension live news environmentExcellent verbal and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills to engage and interact with stakeholders at varying levelsWillingness to learn and pro-actively take initiativeFluency in English language is essentialFlexible to work early morning shifts

Please note that this is a full-time 6-month internship opportunity from June 2025 – January 2026 for undergraduate students.
