News Intern

KRCR has a great opportunity for you! We are looking for interns. Qualified candidates should also be planning and preparing for a job in news. We are looking for highly motivated, dedicated students who are looking to get the most out of their internship experience. You must be eligible to receive college credit to participate in this internship, and be at least 18 years of age. This internship is unpaid. Credit Verification forms will be provided.
 

Internship Overview: 

Are you a news enthusiast with a passion for storytelling and a keen interest in staying up-to-date with current events? If so, we want you on our team at KRCR! As a News Department Intern, you will have the chance to contribute to the creation of compelling news stories, assist in research, conduct interviews, and witness the behind-the-scenes workings of a newsroom for The Northstate’s News, the #1 news leader in Northern California.

 

Responsibilities:

No day is the same. If you excel in an active, fast-moving environment and have the drive to learn the many different areas of News production, this position is perfect for you You will work with reporters, anchors, producers, editors, and photographers, in-house and in the field You will receive training on various topics including how to produce a news segment from the control room, how to research and pitch a great story, how to operate camera equipment, which shots matter, and more

 

Qualifications:

Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with a   You must be eligible to receive college credit to participate in this internship. Willing to work approximately 15 hours a week for 10 weeks, beginning in February 2025 or sooner. There may be a variety in hours due to our news programming schedules. Must be at least 18 years of age Must have reliable transportation and be able to work from our Redding, CA location.
