Job Summary/Description:
WDTV is seeking a passionate, community-driven individual to be our newest Reporter/MMJ. The candidate should have strong knowledge of video shooting and editing skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to multitask. The right candidate will be able to find the best way to tell stories and find new and creative ways to showcase them.
Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Shoot and edit video for news/webcasts daily
- Occasionally interview news subjects for facts and credibility
- Join fellow MMJs to help execute live shots or stand-ups
- File videos in news archiving system
- Work alongside MMJs, anchors, and news director for a daily and weekly coverage plans
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively with newsroom managers, producers and co-workers
- Have a strong background in shooting video and editing
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of journalism ethics and legal issues
- Ability to meet news deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and possess the ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Must possess a valid Driver's L
