Nexstar Media Inc is looking for experienced Newscast Director to join our WPRI team in the Providence Market.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and other live and recorded productions.Direct fast paced and highly produced newscasts using Grass Valley Ignite, Ross XPression and Vinten Robotics.Must be proficient with operation of broadcast equipment within assigned area, including but not limited to switchers, routing, CGs, video playback, remote camera operation. Works with the news producers to deliver a clean and high energy newscast.Working knowledge of common business software applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.Acts as a liaison between engineering, production, news departments.Tests equipment to ensure proper operation.Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience Directing. Automation experience preferred. All day parts (mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays) may be a part of the schedule with overtime as situations demand. Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field preferred. Candidate should be a problem solver and quick thinker to resolve existing issues and to work around problems that arise during live news, be self-sufficient and have a “press-on-regardless” attitude. Other engineering/operating experience in areas of robotic cameras, graphics, audio, editing or transmission is a plus.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production personnel that are involved with a broadcast production.
