The Newscast Director coordinates the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and other live and recorded productions.

Direct newscasts, breaking news and other programs using Grass Valley Ignite system. Other programs could include live audiencesObserves pictures through monitors and directs camera/video staff concerning compositionActs as a liaison between engineering and production departmentsWorks with the news producers to deliver a clean and high energy newscastSwitches video sources and given direction at the same time during live broadcastsCreate commands and effects for newscast and other programsPerforms other duties as assigned

 

 Requirements & Skills:

High school diplomaFluency in EnglishExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenPrior newscast directing experience preferredMinimum two years’ experience in news operations and production preferred High stress environment with deadline pressures and the demands of breaking news which can hapen at any timeENPS newsroom system experience preferredProficiency with broadcast control equipmentAbility to prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyMust be willing and flexible to work any shiftMust be able to sit for long periods of time
