Job Summary:

Assembles a variety of merchandise for display and/or sale to customers using common handtools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assembles a variety of items such as bicycles, strollers, furniture, grills, lawn garden equipment, etc. using common handtools, following manufacturers instructions. Items are assembled both for display and for customers after purchase.

- Inspects finished products prior to delivery to ensure proper working order and advises customers on proper use and maintenance of equipment.

- Installs optional equipment purchased by customers.

- Performs selling duties such as assisting customers in the selection of merchandise and bicycles and advises on optional equipment available for purchase.

- Performs minor repairs such as clean equipment, adjust brakes, gears, refinish minor scratches, replacing worn or broken parts, etc.

- Maintains work area in a safe, orderly manner.

- May assist in backroom and stocking, receiving functions as necessary.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Effort:

Stands, walks, bends, and lifts light to medium weight bulky objects. May use a handcart to move stock within/to/from the storage and selling locations. Assists customers in loading merchandise into vehicles. This position may be required to supply the tools necessary to perform the duties assigned
