NGL Operations Analyst - Houston, TX

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail oriented Midstream NGL Operations Analyst to join our dynamic team. The NGL Operations Analyst supports the Midstream Scheduling function by identifying and leading process improvement projects, assisting with back-office activities, and providing back-up support and vacation coverage for Schedulers. The successful candidate will lead initiatives to build and improve consistency in functions and work processes in a dynamic area of growth for P66. This position will expose the individual to G&P Scheduling, Marketing, BD, and external customers.  The candidate will proactively manage a diverse group of tasks with multiple timelines, stages, and stakeholders.
Other responsibilities include reconciling financial data between scheduling systems and SAP, enhancing data entry processes for monthly closing, and partnering with schedulers to complete end-of-month closing activities. The NGL Operations Analyst will also develop a comprehensive understanding of trade contracts and collaborate with cross-functional leadership to enhance system requirements (ex. Customer Nomination Portal (CNP)).

 

Responsibilities may include:

Leading process improvement projects that reduce non-value-adding tasks and result in time savings and transactional accuracy. Implementing automation where applicable to reduce manual time completing tasks. Providing SAP knowledge and assisting scheduling with closing activities. Acting as a liaison between the front, mid, and back office for improvement projects. Providing change management for system and process changes. Testing small projects by creating and executing test plans for cross-functional scenarios. Providing vacation coverage for Scheduling as applicable. Working with the P66 Accounting group to resolve inventory discrepancies. Assisting with external, internal, and special audits. Developing an understanding of trade contracts’ requirements to improve tools and processes that ensure scheduling has clear visibility to entire y-grade system supply/demand balances. Working with directors of regulated and non-regulated pipelines for CNP system requirements enhancements. Partnering with Schedulers to improve nomination-change tracking. Driving special projects to enhance the bottom line. Partnering with Scheduling Directors (Regulated & Non-Regulated) on Epic Pipeline integration.

 

Required:

Legally authorized to work in the job posting country. Bachelor’s degree. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Able to work remotely via cellphone and/or laptop computer 24/7 as needed. Able to work extended and non-standard hours as needed. 1 or more years of experience in the commercial area or oil/gas/applicable industry.

 

Preferred:

Basic proficiency in SAP S/4 HANA. Business understanding of commercial/midstream operations as well as the downstream value chain. Self-motivated, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work. Demonstrated ability to work independently to manage multiple projects/tasks. Able to effectively collaborate with business to ensure alignment of business solutions. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Phillips 66's Midstream business is a safe, reliable and trusted logistics provider for the movement and storage of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 22,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals.
