NGM - Mine Budgeting System Specialist

Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Mine Budgeting System Specialist to join our team.  The Mine Budgeting System Specialist will Lead the definition of the target operating model for Xeras planning, ensuring seamless integration with mine planning (e.g., Deswik), transactional (SAP), and financial (OneStream) system.

Responsibilities: 

Define Target Operating Model: Lead the definition of the target operating model for Xeras planning, ensuring seamless integration with mine planning (e.g., Deswik), transactional (SAP), and financial (OneStream) systems. Collaborate with mine planners and senior business stakeholders to optimize the budgeting and reforecasting planning cycle, ensuring agility and effectiveness. Drive the re-implementation of Xeras at NGM in alignment with the agreed model. Alignment and Adoption: Drive the alignment and adoption of planning models through change management, training, and coaching for all agreed sites. Support, motivate, and manage on-site user groups, ensuring complete coverage and proficiency in relevant systems (starting with Xeras) and reducing reliance on external support. Project manage identified initiatives – ensure tasks are completed and projects remain on track. Continuous Improvement: Implement industry leading practices to streamline and increase the speed of the financial planning process, minimizing the human effort required to convert a mine plan into a new financial outlook. Analyze and align Xeras planning models across sites to identify gaps and opportunities for alignment. Identify continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning and reporting capabilities. Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering or related field or equivalent experience required Proven experience in planning systems implementation, maintenance, and improvement. Specialist knowledge of the Xeras Planning Application and integration with mine planning systems (e.g., Deswik), SAP, and OneStream. Experience in optimizing budgeting, reforecasting, and financial planning processes. Analytical mindset with the ability to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to drive change management initiatives. Strong leadership abilities, with the capability to support, motivate, and manage cross-functional teams. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and coach users at all levels. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and reducing reliance on external resources. Understanding of data structures Experience with Power BI preferred Excellent safety record with the ability to demonstrate safety leadership Team leadership and problem-solving skills Technical communication and presentation skills Ability to cross train within the mining engineering and data groups
