General Summary

The ideal candidate will have experience inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems. They will be responsible for conducting inspections in accordance with NFPA 25 standards and keeping accurate records of all inspections. The Fire Sprinkler Inspector will also be responsible for troubleshooting any problems with sprinkler systems and making repairs as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct fire sprinkler system inspections in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes Prepare inspection reports detailing the findings of each inspection and recommend any necessary repairs or replacements Keep abreast of new technologies and products related to fire sprinkler systems and share this information with clients Educate clients on the importance of regular fire sprinkler system maintenance and provide them with tips on how to keep their systems in good working order Maintain accurate records of all inspections conducted, including digital photos when applicable Follow up with clients after an inspection to ensure that any recommended repairs or replacements have been made in a timely manner Schedule and coordinate annual fire sprinkler system maintenance contracts with service providers Respond to client inquiries in a prompt and professional manner Stay up-to-date on NFPA standards and local code changes that may impact fire sprinkler systems Attend continuing education courses related to fire sprinkler systems on a regular basis Serve as a resource to clients, architects, engineers, and other professionals regarding fire sprinkler systems Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent NFPA 13 certification NICET II certification in Fire Sprinkler Systems Layout 4 years of experience designing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems Strong knowledge of applicable local, state, and national codes Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Excellent communication, customer service, and time-management skills

Work Environment

Fire sprinkler inspectors work in a variety of settings, including office buildings, factories, and other commercial and industrial buildings. Full time position requiring 40 hours per week, occasional overtime is possible. Inspectors are on call 24 hours a day and may be required to work nights and weekends. Some inspectors may be required to travel to different worksites. Fire sprinkler inspectors may work in hazardous conditions and be exposed to fumes, dust, and noise. They may also be exposed to dangerous chemicals and materials but not to a point of being disagreeable
