We set high standards for customer service, quality, and keeping costs under control. POSITION SUMMARY The Nursing Supervisor position provides support to the Unit Manager (UM). Together the UM and Nursing Supervisor have 24-hour responsibility for the management of operations and achievement of organizational/unit based strategic goals. This is accomplished through the growth and retention of a cohesive team, support of a culture of safety, excellence and accountability, management of the departmental budget and resources, oversight of daily operations, participation in performance improvement and committee work, intradisciplinary communication and collaboration, development of evidence-based policy and procedure and general administrative duties. The Nursing Supervisor must have/maintain the technical skills and competency to provide direct care for patients in the unit. The Nursing Supervisor will report directly to the Unit Manager, will be very involved with management duties, overall unit leadership and, in the absence of the Unit Manager, will be able to manage daily operations and decision making with support from the Nursing Director. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education Associates Degree in NursingMinimum Experience 3-5 years of experience
Required Registration/License/Certification Alabama Board of Nursing License BLS within 90 days of DOH/Transfer ACLS required within 90 days of DOH/transfer Neonatal Resuscitation required within 3 months of hire
Preferred Education BSN
Preferred Experience Previous charge nurse experience, 50FTF
Preferred Registration/License/Certification Specialty certification—ex. CCRN, PCCN, ONS, BCEN, CDN
