Key Responsibilities Include:
*Nursing supervisor is the immediate leader for a specific nursing unit.
*Responsible for the patient population and assigned staff.
*The nursing supervisor plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and evaluates the day to day unit activities.
*The nursing is responsible for the patient care, actions and outcomes on the unit.
*The nursing supervisor collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and safe patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. *He/she is responsible for the education of and compliance with the National Patient Safety Goals and NHS policies, practices and protocols.
*The nursing supervisor delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
*The NICU Supervisor will be a hands-on, working supervisor, providing patient care when needed but ultimately serving as a resource to staff and physicians.
*Valid RN license to practice.
*BSN or MSN required.
*Speciality certification in NICU preferred.
*Minimum of 5 years acute care maternal/child experience.
*2 years of managment or supervisory experince preferred.
*Must have excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
*Must have current BLS
*Must obtain ACLS and NRP (within 90 days of employment)
*AWOHNN Fetal Monitoring Course within 6 months of employment.
