The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. Job Summary The Night Auditor is responsible for conducting financial and operational reconciliations during the overnight shift, ensuring all billing, auditing, and end-of-day closing processes are accurate and in compliance with Marriott Brand Standards. Additionally, the Night Auditor provides guest assistance overnight, manages the Opera PMS system, and ensures compliance with service, safety, and GXP reporting standards. Key Responsibilities Financial Audit & Reconciliation •Perform the end-of-day closing process in Opera PMS, ensuring accurate reconciliation of revenue, charges, and payments. •Verify and adjust discrepancies in guest and department invoices. •Generate and review night audit reports, including revenue, occupancy, tax, and guest folios. •Balance and close the front desk cash drawer, ensuring all transactions and deposits are properly recorded. •Submit required financial reports to the Accounting department per Marriott policies. Guest Services & Overnight Assistance •Handle guest requests during the night, including late check-ins and early check-outs. •Provide information about hotel facilities and available local services. •Ensure any maintenance or housekeeping requests are addressed by coordinating with the respective departments. •Apply the LEARN service recovery model: + Listen to the guest’s concerns. + Empathize with their situation. + Apologize sincerely for any inconvenience. + Resolve the issue effectively. + Notify the necessary departments or managers and follow up. Security & GXP Reporting •Monitor and document security incidents during the night, ensuring adherence to emergency protocols. •Ensure compliance with Marriott security procedures for overnight guest access and restricted areas. •Log and track all guest service requests in GXP, ensuring optimal response times. •Maintain the Chat Responded to in Goal Time % metric in GXP in green status, as required by BSA 2025 . Administrative & Reporting Duties •Prepare and distribute arrival, departure, and occupancy reports for morning shift teams. •Review and complete the night shift log, ensuring all incidents and updates are properly documented. •Coordinate with Housekeeping to update room status before the morning shift begins. •Process and verify guest account charges, deposits, and credit card authorizations. Job Requirements Education & Experience •High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. •At least 1 year of experience in front desk, night auditing, or accounting in hospitality. •Experience with Opera PMS (preferred). •Knowledge and use of GXP (preferred). Skills & Competencies •Advanced knowledge of Opera PMS for auditing and end-of-day closing. •Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy for financial reconciliation. •Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish (Papiamento and Dutch are a plus). •Ability to handle emergencies and security situations with calm and efficiency. •Customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving. •Understanding of hotel security protocols for nighttime operations. Work Conditions •Availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays. •Ability to stand or walk for extended periods. •Ability to lift and move objects up to 10 pounds without assistance.
