18.75 USD HourlyThe Night Auditor provides excellent overnight service at the hotel front desk, performing all relevant night audit functions including cash reports, reconciliation, verifying accuracy of credit cards, bookkeeping, end of day accounting duties for the hotel. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Accurately complete required night audit reports on a nightly basis.
Verify readings, over-rings, credit cards, checks, guest folios, audit daily guest ledger of the hotel to verify and balance entries. Investigate and correct any discrepancies.
Check daily cash reports for completeness and accuracy. Create daily deposit and ensure correct starting cash amount at the front desk for the morning.
Manage overnight walk-in traffic. Sign in guests as needed. Smile and greet guests in a welcoming manner.
Act as front desk attendant during the night hours, register and assign rooms to guests, provide quote for room rates and up-sell the guest when possible, and ensure guests are satisfied with service requests.
Update reservations system with occupancy of guests as they come as they check in and out.
Provide administrative, reception, and program support to management and staff.
Manage phone activity including providing general knowledge to callers.
Resolve guest concerns and complaints within scope of authority; refer to management as appropriate.
Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them immediately to your manager.
Performs such other related duties as directed or required.
SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent required. Some college in related degree preferred.
Basic accounting skills and mathematical accuracy.
Clerical skills including typing, filing, office machine operations, cash register operation, maintenance of records, and the ability to undertake multiple tasks simultaneously.
Computer proficiency.
Ability to effectively organize and coordinate multiple priorities.
Ability to learn and develop new skills and problem solving.
Ability to arrange and coordinate schedules for reservations.
Excellent interpersonal, administrative, telephone and other communications skills.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 15 lbs. regularly, 20-30 lbs. frequently, and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to stand for the entire workday and to climb steps regularly.
Ability to sit at a desk and monitor phones for extended amounts of time.
Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English. Able to read and write work-related documents in English.
Communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees.
Able to work overnight with little to no supervision.
Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
