Night Shift Production Manager
Overview This position drives activities to deliver and improve overall site results on night shift (11:00 pm – 7:00 am; Sunday – Thursday) specifically, this role is responsible for managing all aspects of 9 Production lines and a Distribution Center producing approximately 65MM cases. Key deliverables include ensuring Safety, Quality, Financial Controls, True Efficiency (TE), Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) processes through developing people Capability while delivering a positive union free work environment. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Lead overall Site Operations strategies and tactics development / execution of the Integrated Business Plan to deliver the annual operating plan (AOP). Ensure root cause analysis and countermeasures are identified, necessary resource assistance is secured and clear follow up accountability is assigned for closing performance gaps. Deliver Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Motivation of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics as outlined in the Integrated Business Plan. Ensure effective integration of Operational Excellence leveraging TPM Pillars and Starfleet Technical teams (internal and external) and promote best practice reapplication (gives & gets) to accelerate People/Process/Technology capability development. Lead and motivate the team in a manner consistent with the Tolleson site Vision/Mission/Values, Zero Loss Journey (ZLJ) and Employee Handbook. Build and develop salaried talent through effective application of the PepsiCo Career Growth and Leadership Models. Provide effective and timely performance appraisal (PDR Process), feedback (360 Feedback) development planning (Resource Competency Assessment and CDAP), and SCCA Program. Ensure development of hourly talent and Natural Work Team effectiveness through effective coaching and mentoring of Kaizen Event, Autonomous Maintenance. Ensure effective and timely performance appraisal (PDR Process, New Hire Evaluations), feedback (Inclusion 1-3 tools) and development planning (Skill Base Pay or equivalent, recruitment). Understand the Strategic Management process to continuously access current and future state performance gaps and opportunities. Develop and manage TE and run strategies leveraging the Team Executional Planner (TEP). Communicate effectively, proactively and in cooperation with plant functional groups and Corporate Supply Chain functions. Lead execution of Cost Management Process and business team initiatives; Lead development and execution of department Natural Work Team plan and goals. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Write business compositions/reports and Executive Summaries Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment Leadership capability with a demonstrated drive for results Respond to inquiries from employees and managers who seek data that often requires research. Perform special job tasks/projects in support of Plant/Operations Manager, which requires a good working knowledge of Manufacturing procedures and guides. Assist in various facility functions such as company picnic, service award activities, tours, etc. Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation. Interacts daily with all levels of management and plant personnel Manage a continuous operation; Ability to work flexible schedules; evenings and weekends as needed. Compensation and Benefits The expected compensation range for this position is between $85,200 - $142,650. Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually. Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement. Qualifications Education required/preferred: Bachelor’s degree within relevant field (engineering, business, technical, etc.) 3 years of Maintenance Required/Preferred Experience: 5+ year’s site manufacturing experience – Beverage/Foods manufacturing or Consumer Products Sector (Household & Personal Products Industry) experience is strongly preferred. 3 years of Maintenance experience with proven results delivering root cause analysis / countermeasure development for sustainable results. The successful candidate must possess strong skills, knowledge and capability in: TPM or Lean Manufacturing equivalent, Finance and Accounting, Project Management, Human Relations, and Statistics/Logical Problem Solving. Proven track record in driving cultural change. Solid working knowledge in the following business enterprise areas is essential: HSE / Quality regulatory compliance, Plant Operations, Maintenance and Engineering, Ingredient and Package material Procurement, Production Planning & Deployment, and Consumer Response. Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Technical skillsets to deliver: Root Cause Analysis, Break Down Analysis, 5-Why, and FMECA. Demonstrated proficiency and high degree of competence with a PC in a Windows environment, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Access and SAP. Excellent written, grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills with the expertise to generate professional correspondence, reports and presentations. Skills/Competencies: Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language and perform basic mathematical skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively establish priorities and manage diverse tasks simultaneously for both hourly and salaried employees Sense of urgency to plan, organize, and adapt to rapidly changing priorities. Excellent communication skills, using professional, courteous manner and good judgment in dealing with internal and external customers. Proven ability to work professionally with sensitive and confidential materials and information. A quick learner and confident, proactive team player. Self-motivated proactive approach to work. Excellent interpersonal skills and serious sense of responsibility for dealing with sensitive and confidential matters. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously often under pressure; and be flexible to changes in priority. Must be able to work independently.
