Night Support Worker

About the people you will be supporting:

We are a group of up to 6 people with complex health needs and learning disabilities who live together in a supported living environment, We enjoy spending time together but also have individual interests, to which we need support to be able to take part in.

We all get our own 1-1 support to enable us to attend local social activities such as visiting the library and parks or going out for meals or for shopping, we also like to go swimming, to the gym, football matches. This is very much a hands-on job where no two days are the same. There will be added support of a floating member on the night shifts.

Shift Patterns may look like this:

This is a night role with the shift pattern of 7:30pm to 8am.

Role Responsibility

Daily support we need from you

 Assisting with our personal care needsTo prepare food for us or with our involvement when we wantSupport us with our food and drinksManual handlingSupporting us with medication including creams and lotionsEnsuring our record keeping is maintained to the highest standard, this will include finance records as these will be auditedHelp us to manage our money safelyTo help us keep our home clean and tidyEnsuring our health and safety is maintainedMaking sure we have an interesting and varied dayLiaising with the Landlord regarding our tenancies and any repairs.Activities in the community either on a 1-1 or a 2-1 depending on the activityConfident in using public transport and supporting us to use all ranges of it. Whilst knowledge of our learning disabilities and complex needs would be beneficial, it is not essential; what is essential is that you are:

   Passionate, caring and enthusiasticFlexible, patient and non-judgementalA great team player with lots of energyAble to demonstrate good communication skills, including understanding non-verbal communicationAble to complete the physical aspects of the role such as manual handling where neededTransferable experience of helping people to manage anxiety About us
