Covers determination of project / programme goals and support of business objectives and strategies. Ensures projects / programmes achieve their targets, keep their schedule, and maintain estimated cost, time, and quality within planned scope. Covers management of risks that affect the delivery of project outcomes.
Subfamily Description
Internal Project Management (IPM) monitors and ensures projects for internal customers are delivered within agreed scope and are completed within budget, schedule, and quality standards. Covers implementation of process improvements to reduce development time and the assistance in the integration of complex business factors to develop and implement long-term strategic planning objectives.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
7+ years meaningful experience in networking/technology industry, with 4-5 years in a Program Management position and a demonstrated history and ability to take a leadership role in managing programs
Proven history of driving successful programs and leading change with your programs.
Outstanding written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
Practical work experience with Waterfall and Agile development methodologies
Certification on PMI/PMP would be a plus.
Drive and own full program life cycle from initiation to deployment. Develop and manage medium to complex multi-functional program schedules, identify risks, manage scope and monitor progress against plan, while always maintaining a solution orientation and a well-balanced perspective around risks and escalations.
Identify, call out and drive resolution of issues that affect program schedule and feature scope.
Define, generate, and assess metrics and key performance indicators for the program. Provide all vital data to support critical decision-making through fact-based analysis.
Ensure effective communication within multi-functional teams: Operations, Engineering, Product Management, QA and Release Management.
Your role requires strong people, data and communications; it requires excellent leadership, critical thinking, independence, organizational excellence, data analysis, presentation and communication skills.
Experience working on medium to large-scale Enterprise Software programs.
Experience in Optical technologies is a plus.
Proactively establish practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships that impact the Enterprise products and solutions
Comfortable interpreting data to translate and present as business insights.
Participate and facilitate teams working through technical challenges and decisions. Experience contributing to design and architecture discussions and test strategies.
Experience with Software Development and Release Management experience a plus.
Solve sophisticated problems and drive programs and solutions for solving those problems
Work independently to design, plan, and implement technical projects; distil data and eloquent rationale for making difficult trade-offs.
