Subfamily Description

Standardisation & Open Source (SOS) comprises the development and implementation of a consistent strategy for external standards and forums including open source. Covers management and contribution to standardisation and other forums.Takes a direct role in the management and / or execution of standardisation related bodies and forums and develops / deploys and uses communication and web tools for standardisation purpose, the assistance of organisations in the creation of new forums. Ensures that the company obtains value for money from its investments in external memberships. Contains building up of robust intellectual property assets for Nokia.

Knowledge & Experience

Our team is seeking a energetic, creative individual for a Engineering position that is well versed in standards and standardization efforts. The individual should be able to model network with a view to manageability and be forward looking. The individual should have expertise in the full FCAPS of network management. The  individual should be a liaison between the standards and the R&D organization and should be able to convert the standards specification into implementable requirements. The individual should be experienced in modeling techniques as UML, YANG.

• Shapes and leads efforts of standards and industry specifications  - with special emphasis on Optical NMS and manageability of the solution.

• Contributes to functional vision and strategy resulting from standardisation consideration.

• Consistently interacts with key customers with senior experts on standardisation-related topics.

• Participates in alignment and clarifying membership issues in Nokia.

• influences standard / open source policies regionally under guidance.
