About the Opportunity
Westinghouse Electric Canada is a leading supplier of custom equipment, process systems and engineering consultant services for the Nuclear industry in Canada. The successful candidate will join an innovative team that supports Westinghouse’s mission to provide clean energy solutions. As a part of our growing team, the successful candidate will be responsible for prescribed QA activities to support successful execution of custom Manufacturing projects.
What will you do?
Your day to day:
Perform Welding Visual Inspections (CSA W47.1 & W59, ASME B31.3, CSA W47.2 & W59.2. Perform LPI/PT, MT and cleanliness inspection to applicable standards if necessary. Read and Interpret drawings. Produce objective reports. Develop UT in house capabilities. Oversee and train recently qualified NDE technicians.

High school diploma or GED Post-secondary technical education is preferred Minimum of three years (6) experience in a similar trade. Knowledge of application of non-destructive examination (NDE) processes and various inspection equipment as applicable to high quality custom fabrications and pressure retaining equipment Technical or manufacturing experience [knowledge of manufacturing procedures and processes for shop fabrication (e.g. machining, welding, assembly)] Demonstrated strong oral and written communication abilities. Interest in developing technical skills through both internal and external training. Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques Strong work ethic. Eligible for CGSB LPI/PT, MT and UT Level 2 certifications. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to pass Annual eye examination for, near distance visual acuity, colour differentiation Possession of valid Driver’s License Computer literacy and proficiency in various software packages ( e.g. Microsoft word, Excel,)
Preferred:
Post-secondary technical education is preferred Knowledge of and experience in application of the following quality standards for manufacturing low volume, custom designed components and equipment: CSA N299 series CSA N285.0, B51 ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III, VIII ASME NQA-1 Experience and/or background in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing CGSB 48.9712 LPT Level 2 Certified.
