Pay Rate: $61.63 per hour
Location: Kinston, NC 28504
Schedule: Full-time; Consultant (7 Months), Monday to Friday, 2nd Shift

Position Description:We are seeking an experienced NDI Technician to perform Ultrasonic Testing (A-Scan and Thickness) in a high-precision aerospace environment. The selected candidate will utilize advanced Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) methods to evaluate material properties, components, and systems without causing damage. This role requires extensive experience in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), NAS-410 certification, and aerospace composite materials.
Key Responsibilities:Utilize Ultrasonic Testing (A-Scan and Thickness) methods to inspect and evaluate aerospace components.
Set up and standardize NDI equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate results, and determine acceptance or rejection.
Document findings and establish techniques based on approved general procedures or work instructions.
Conduct system performance checks in accordance with industry standards.
Provide training, supervision, and guidance to NDI trainees as needed.
Perform audit surveillance on non-destructive inspection (NDI) processes and document non-conformances.
Interpret codes, standards, and contractual documents related to NDT methods.
Assume technical responsibility for the NDT facility, equipment, and staff.
Develop, verify, and approve procedures and work instructions to ensure technical accuracy.
Conduct training, examination, and certification of personnel.
Complete a General Exam on Day 1, followed by Specific and Practical exams during the first week of hire.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):NAS-410 Certification (UT) required – must provide documentation before submission.
Proof of Level I and Level II training, plus an additional 800 hours of Ultrasonic Testing (UT) experience (must be signed off by a Level III NDI).
Experience with Graphite Composites in Aerospace applications.
Strong ability to interpret industry codes, standards, and specifications.
Comfortable working 2nd Shift in a high-paced aerospace environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with multiple NDI methods (e.g., liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, thermography, shearography, eddy current, radiography).
Hands-on experience setting up NDI equipment and conducting system performance checks.
Previous experience training and mentoring junior NDI technicians.
