Under direct supervision, primarily performs basic research or lab activities similar to a Research Assistant 1 or Lab Aide*.
Function/Duties of PositionStudent Worker position is open in Behavioral Neuroscience laboratory with a focus on the molecular mechanisms underlying sex differences in substance use disorder. The student will work closely with the Principal Investigator to:
Prepare reagents Process tissues Conduct behavioral experiments Analyze data Required Qualifications Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Undergraduate Program (minimum 6 credit hours) Preferred QualificationsUndergraduate coursework in biology, molecular biology, neuroscience, psychology or animal behavior
3 months of undergraduate research or laboratory coursework
Organizational skills
Experience in excel, R, SPSS or prism for data entry and analysis
Additional Details Occasional weekend work may be required.Working with research animals requiredResearch assistant will help general lab maintenance including ordering and setting up equipment, as well as running experiments and analyzing data for the lab.
