Non-Tenure: ENVP Visiting Lecturer Geography Location College Station, TX, USA Open Date 10/27/2025 Position ID 172217 Description The Department of Geography in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for a visiting lecturer position with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2026. This is a full-time, 9-month (September to May), non-tenure accruing appointment. This position will be expected to teach four courses each semester for the College of Arts and Sciences Environmental Programs (B.S. Environmental Systems Science; B.S. Environmental Studies) and the Department of Geography. Courses will relate to environmental systems science, environmental social science, and environmental studies. The position is eligible for renewal. The College of Arts and Sciences Environmental Programs (https://artsci.tamu.edu/interdisciplinary-programs/environmental-programs/index.html) is part of an inter-departmental faculty of over 55 members from across 10 departments in the College of Arts and Sciences. This faculty governs the undergraduate program that offers two B.S. degrees (Environmental Systems Science and Environmental Studies) and one minor (Environmental Systems Science). The Department of Geography (artsci.tamu.edu/geography) has twenty-two faculty members with strengths in biogeography, climatology, geographic information science and technology (GIST), geomorphology, human geography, and human-environment relationships. The Department is one of eighteen departments in the College of Arts & Sciences (http://artsci.tamu.edu). Texas A&M University, a land-, sea-, and space-grant university, is in a metropolitan area with a dynamic and international community of 273,000 people. Qualifications Ph.D. in Geography, Environmental Studies, Environmental Social Science or a related field is required.
