Non-Trade Deduction Manager

General Summary

This position will be responsible for leading a US enterprise-wide deduction and dispute resolution process for a multi-million-dollar company. They will be part of our AR transformation initiative, leading and supporting their team through design and implementation of processes and tools.

This position will manage five onshore team members in the Hanover office as well as resource teams from our third-party provider (Accenture) with the primary responsibility of resolving trade and non-trade deductions. Trade responsibilities include Snacks DSD Partner Brand Pricing and reporting. Non-Trade responsibilities cover all of Campbell M&B and Snacks unsaleable deductions. Additionally, this role will manage the process to ensure all invalid customer claims are properly disputed, which includes coordination between our third-party provider (Accenture), sales, customer service, supply chain and finance. This person will be responsible for monitoring the onshore team members and coordinating with the third-party provider to ensure a quality work product, investigating complex customer claims and providing coaching / corrective actions to the outsourced and/or onshore teams as needed to resolve errors identified. Throughout this work, this position will develop strong relationships and work cross-functionally with the North American Supply Chain organization, Campbell’s US customer base, US Sales teams and Finance.  This role reports to the Manager, Deductions Management and will be responsible for both outsourced and retained work.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage customer deductions process, providing governance and oversight and managing issue escalation as appropriate.   Strict adherence to policy and process while incorporating key controls is required.  Effectively manage and lead team to achieve all deduction balance targets.  Conduct root cause anlayses, identify trends and lead the solutions effort to develop alternate strategies and tactics.  Identify key opportunity areas for cost avoidance and process improvements.

Collaborate with customers and internal functions on key opportunity areas such as deduction validation and processing, process gaps, service levels, and other areas as assigned.  Responsible for providing key business stakeholders with periodic reviews of open deduction balances, recommend solutions and work cross functionally US Sales and customers to drive improvements.

Build organizational capability, including direction setting, development and performance management for direct reports and outsourced team.  Ensure team is highly functioning and adheres to processes and policies.

Perform monthly SOX controls and manage monthly audits of deductions and write-offs validated and processed by third party provider (Accenture).

Develop and ensure implementation of specific project plans, policy and procedures and change management procedures, including identifying opportunities to standardize processes across businesses where appropriate.

Provide strategic direction for the team and must possess clear verbal and written communication to explain issues and propose solutions to customers, sales, finance teams or managers.

Responsible for evaluating existing processes and identifying opportunities to standardize and streamline processes to eliminate inefficiencies and excess costs, working with peers across the organization to gain alignment and execute change.

Must possess strong leadership skills

Must be proficient in MS Office Suite Programs and possess an ability to quickly learn new systems.  Experience with HighRadius, SAP and envision a plus

Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow through to resolution on issues

Good business perspective skills with the ability to look at problems or projects through the eyes of the customers, competitors, coworkers and managers

Action-oriented with strong prioritization capabilities and a proven ability for analytical and problem solving skills, direction setting, and organizational alignment skills

Working Conditions

Normal office environment with minimal (5-10%) travel.

Some holiday and weekend coverage required throughout the year, especially at fiscal quarter closes (Oct, Jan, Apr, and Jul).

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between 

$72,900-$117,300

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
