Nondestructive Ultrasonic Testing Technician

We are currently seeking a Nondestructive Ultrasonic Testing Technician to support our NAVSEA Carderock customer. This position is contingent upon contract award. Candidates shall have subject matter expertise in inspecting various types of metal materials and managing a Level III certified NDE Program. 

Required Education: A high school diploma or GED. Certified to Level III Test Examiner for ultrasonic testing (UT) to perform UT thickness, shear wave, and time of flight diffraction (ToFD) per Nondestructive Testing Methods (NAVSEA T9074-AS-GIB-010/271). Shall be certified level III for phase array UT (PAUT) under ASNT. Personnel with ASNT or NAS 410 Level III certifications for UT may be considered. Shall be able to generate and approve scan plans, write and approve UT testing procedures and workmanship standards, and develop and administer training materials and examinations for Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) employees that satisfy the requirements in NAVSEA T9074-AS-GIB-010/271 for Level II UT certification. Shall be able to perform medium duty lifting (carrying up to 25lbs).

Desired Education:  Familiarity with inspecting various types of metal materials, polymers, and composites to include, but not limited to, flat plate, weldments, shapes, and pipes. Experience managing
and running a Level III certified NDE program in accordance with Navy or commercial specifications are preferred.

 

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
