Noninvasive Cardiology Coordinator

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is hiring a PRN Noninvasive Cardiology Coordinator to join Cardiac Diagnostics!

Inova Fairfax Medical Center’s Cardiac Diagnostics Department performs a variety of noninvasive cardiology exams. The team is comprised of sonographers, registered nurses, EKG technicians, and physicians who support our award-winning clinical programs and hospital. As a Noninvasive Cardiology Coordinator, you will be responsible for: 

Ensuring adequate staffing plans for sonographers Organizing and managing patient assignments for the sonographers (>13 sonographers daily) Triaging orders and assigning to sonographers based on the priority level  Assisting the team with IT and equipment issues  Developing and maintaining data tracking tools to assist with leadership decision making Partner with RNs for procedural scheduling Creatively problem-solving daily challenges

Strong communication, organizational, and multi-taking skills are required for the role. The position is PRN.  Ideal candidate has flexibility to work weekday and weekend day shifts. Demonstrates leadership and independent judgment necessary to support an effective work environment while staying abreast of current technology and showing evidence of professional growth. Develops and assists in continuous performance improvement within the department in order to maintain optimal quality patient care. Manages the overall operations of the section to ensure quality patient care and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities 

 

Works within the department and with the hospital at large to provide direction and support. Ensures adequate staffing plans on a 24 hour basis while ensuring equitable staffing requirements. Demonstrates excellent triage and timing skills pertaining to problems arising from staff or equipment. Alters staffing assignments as required for extended coverage; Effectively coordinates staffing patterns through Ansos and Web scheduling. Oversees equipment preventative maintenance schedule and coordinates activity with Biomedical and Information Technology departments to resolve system problems. Works with director and staff to diffuse/resolve internal and external customer relations issues related to performance, conflicts, equipment downtime and behavior problems. Exhibits excellent communication skills that are clear and concise as evidenced by supportive teamwork/collaboration within all levels of the department and interdepartmental staff; Demonstrates creativity in section operational skills, decision making skills and contingency planning preparation. May perform additional duties as assigned.
