**Job Description:** Utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, works independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. **Education Qualifications:** NP: Master's degree in nursing PA: Bachelor’s degree in a health/science-related field **Licensure/Certification Qualifications:** **NP/PA – Ortho Urgent Care (Casual FTE)– Duluth, MN** An NP/PA utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills. They work independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Advanced Practice Clinicians provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others. **We are looking for an experience NP or PA with a background in Orthopedics, Emergency Medicine and/or Urgent Care for this brand-new dynamic independent practice model position for Essentia Health.** **Practice Specifics:** + 2 Full time Advanced Practitioners will comprise the core staff, with MD oversight from orthopedics. + Free standing location away from the main campus. 3 exam rooms, a cast room in addition to state-of-the-art Radiology Suite. + VERY independent practice model with support from onsite radiology tech and athletic trainer + No follow-up care – Initial workup and medical care only, all follow up care done by referral + Work shifts will be twelve-hour days + Extended hours with evening and weekends. Starting model will be as follows: + Monday – Friday 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. + Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. + Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. + We anticipate these times will change as demand drives, but changes will not affect FTE. NP: Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state. Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in appropriate state. Current certification in CPR. National certification in applicable area. Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice PA: Current licensure as a physician assistant in appropriate state. Current certification in CPR. National certification.
