The NPI Engineer manages all the activities aimed at industrializing a new product and reports directly to the Technical Office Supervisor. The NPI Engineer coordinates the gates 2-1 and 1-0, and in daily contact with the team leaders of the different areas (technical office, plant, toolshop) and different plants or regions, and manages autonomously the relationships with product office/APQP for samples approval.

 

My day at EssilorLuxottica

Management of the full frames industrialization and raw components industrialization (gate 2-1 and 1-0) Autonomous with the management of the relationships with plants, technical office, product office, toolshop Responsible for creation of technical data sheets and process routings Maintain the project status, timeline, Bill of Materials (BOM), Engineering Change (ECN) administration and proper reporting activity Daily alignments with team leaders in the technical office, plant and toolshop Evaluation of technical aspects and relative industrialization costs Escalation in case of blocking issues for the NPIs Support for the plants managing the requirements of customized jigs and fixtures

 

Must have

Bachelor degree (mechanical engineering or material engineering is preferred) 5+ years experience with product development and NPI flows Knowledge of manufacturing techniques (injection molding, metal, machining, assembly) Good knowledge of technical 2D drawings; 3D CAD modeling is a plus English language is required Familiar with Microsoft office. Good interpersonal skills and management skills Logical thinking and problem solving, Good Attitude, Target oriented mindset and capability to work independently in dynamic environment. Understanding of health and safety standard and regulations Effective and clear communication both internal and external department. People management skill Able to communicate in English. SAP system knowledge;
