Job Summary:
The NSS Senior Accountant I facilitates Division/Area level accounting activities within the NSS General Ledger Team, including financial and cost accounting functions.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Executes delivery of timely and accurate financial information, inclusive of recommendations, to Division, Area and Home Office personnel.Assist NSS Controller to provide accurate, timely and efficient month-end close process for up to two Divisions/Areas, including providing input to Divisions.Review, ensure accuracy, and provide feedback on journal entries completed by lower-level accountants, including inter-company, house close, and miscellaneous entries.Analyze budget variance results and provide recommendations.Compete assigned balance sheet account reconciliations, and review reconciliations performed by Staff Accountants.Review fixed asset additions, disposals and transfers.Analyze contingent job cost, working with Division Construction and Purchasing personnel to determine appropriate accounting reporting and action.Prepare Hotel and Sales & Use Tax Returns and facilitates tax payment.Facilitate in-house commissions payout and reporting.Provide financial information to the NSS Controller related to internal and external audit requests.Participate in continuous improvement efforts within the NSS General Ledger Team, and the collective NSS Department.Attend required development training sessions as assigned throughout the year.Other duties as assigned.Management Responsibilities
