Opportunity
We’re seeking a System Administrator with in-depth knowledge and experience of NAVAL TACTICAL COMMAND SUPPORT SYSTEM (NTCSS) to join our Validation and Verification team at the Norfolk Naval base, Norfolk Va. The scope of duties includes the administration of the software and hardware segments of the NTCSS enterprise to include the Installation and upgrade of various versions/releases of the software segment and troubleshooting of the server component- Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers (RHEL 8) to include implementing updates, patches, and system upgrades. The selected candidate will also perform System Administration level tasks on the Validation and Verification team’s Windows servers to include their ALM (Test Repository) servers.
 

Responsibilities

Perform validation and verification tasks: Based on validated requirements the selected candidate will use the customer’s provided test tools to develop and execute test cases of applications and systems. This will include the validation and verification of the Automated Work Notification (AWN) interface and hardware – Laptop server testing to ensure functionality, performance, and security compliance and provide results to the leadership team.Perform Virtual Machine Management: Manage virtual environments for Linux software, including provisioning, configuration, and maintenance to support various project needs.Perform system administration level support and Subject Matter Expert (SME) Services: Act as a SME for NTCSS on RHEL 8, providing customer support, troubleshooting, and technical guidance to resolve complex issues.Perform Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and operational procedures.Perform Security Compliance: Ensure all systems adhere to security policies, including the latest security patches and best practices.Perform Life Cycle Support: Manage the full lifecycle of Linux systems from deployment through to decommissioning, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal downtime.


Core Qualifications

US Citizen.Must have an active secret (or interim) clearance and must be able to obtain a T5 investigation clearance.Must have a minimum of five years demonstrated professional experience in solving various levels of technical problems.Must have experience in fields associated with DoD Business IT supply, logistics, maintenance, and/or personnel administration system for aviation, afloat or shore activities.Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field and 4 years of experience OR a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.CompTIA Security+ CE certificationLinux+ certificationExtensive knowledge of experience in RHEL administration.Demonstrated proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware.Extensive knowledge of experience in scripting skills in languages like Bash.Knowledge of and experience in system hardening, security patches, and compliance frameworks.Demonstrated first-rate problem-solving and analytical skills.Demonstrated capability to work independently or as part of a team.Possesses robust communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.

Qualifications

Desired
• Prior NTCSS experience is highly preferred.
• Prior involvement in User Acceptance Testing (UAT)/ Systems Qualifications Testing (SQT) events is highly preferred.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$82,100-$172,400
