**Job Summary**
The Nuclear Fleet Special Projects Manager will lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation.
In this role they will plan and manage long range projects, programs and 3rd party resources to meet Vistra strategic objectives. Additionally, they will manage programs and projects to enhance the commercial availability of new technologies and enhancement to existing technologies. This role is also responsible for managing complex identified scope for all aspects of project with technical input and oversight and detailed analysis and implementation of generation technologies for application to Vistra operations or commercial development.
The primary focus and attention of the work for this role is based out of Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Plant in Shippingport, PA. The role can be based out of any of the Vistra PJM Nuclear sites in OH or PA. Travel may be frequent, if work at a site other than Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station.
**Job Description**
**Key Accountabilities**
+ Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risks.
+ Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.
+ Technical support and oversight for the development of commercial / environmental / reliability / sustainability interests in new technology applications.
+ Subject matter expert in areas of value to Vistra
+ Technical support to Projects and Operations in the application of technologies at operating plants or plants in development
+ Provide innovative engineering solutions for difficult problems
+ May be responsible for developing other employees in areas of expertise
+ Lead economic justification/analysis for projects
**Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements**
+ 15 years of relevant Nuclear Engineering experience or a Bachelor of Science Degree or advanced degree in an Engineering discipline with at least 8 -10 years of relevant Engineering experience
+ 10 years Project Management or Industrial Electrical Experience preferred.
+ Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Demonstrates and applies knowledge of current and pending regulatory, code and general industry issues to resolve Vistra’s interests.
+ Oversees project finance and budget justification.
+ Proficiency in project management tools and software applications.
+ Proven track record of successfully leading projects from concept to implementation.
+ Strong Knowledge of Nuclear Processes, Organization, Planning and Control with the ability to plan and execute a broad course of action.
