Position Summary / Career Interest:The Nuclear Medicine Educational Program Manager is responsible for the education program’s administrative functions, including accreditation, student selection, instruction, clinical functions and adjunct faculty. This position will be directly report to the department of radiology and indirectly to the University of Kansas School of Health Professions.

Responsibilities and Essential Job FunctionsFunctions with limited supervision in maintaining organizational accountability for meeting the mission and vision expectations. Plans, directs, educates, and advises the activity of nuclear medicine students. Provides leadership to manage the program’s accreditation, enrollment, education, and financial functions. Works with various staff including physicians, nurses, residents, etc. to optimize student education. Direct oversight of the student’s clinical education, including but not limited to competency evaluation and clinical instruction. Maintains clinical skill set to meet student care needs.   Must be able to step in and perform all procedures independently without assistance.  Injects radiopharmaceuticals intravenously and/or administers orally to patients to perform Nuclear Medicine examinations. Assist nuclear medicine technical staff in self-development and improvement and provide opportunities for them to become engaged in new procedures, and/or personal development. Work with Manager and Department Director as requested to support various teams, committees, and performance improvement activities. Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Required Education and ExperienceHigh School Graduate Master's Degree 4 or more years Minimum years of experience post-certification nuclear medicine technology experience and at least one year of experience teaching in the didactic and/or clinical setting for a nuclear medicine technology program
Preferred Education and Experience Graduate of an AMA approved Nuclear Medicine Technology Training Program.
Required Licensure and CertificationPositron Emission Technology Certification (PET) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Nuclear Cardiology Technologist(NCT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) - Kansas Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA) within 90 Days
Preferred Licensure and Certification CT Certification PET Certification
