Nuclear Medicine Technologist
PRN position to include days and weekends in our Nuclear Medicine Department in Pinehurst
We are looking for a dynamic NM Technologist for our Nuclear Medicine Department in Pinehurst. If you are eager to enhance your clinical skills with a variety of NM studies and work with a varied patient population, this may be the position for you.
Job Details:
· Must be Nuclear Medicine registered either through NMTCB or ARRT
· BCLS required
· Has training in NM studies such as Nuclear Stress Test, Bone Scans, HIDA Scans, Lung scans, Thyroid Scans, Liver Scans, and Brain Scans
· Prepares facilities in accordance with procedural requirements; calibrates equipment as required by the institution.
· Calculate, measure and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used and disposed, using computer and following physician’s prescription.
· Preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals orally or by injection or inhalation.
· Starts patient IV's.
· Explaining the imaging procedure to patients, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort while placing them in the appropriate position for scanning.
· Accomplish computer processing and imaging enhancement.
· Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
· Monitoring the departments daily, monthly, and quarterly QC under the guidelines of the NRC.
