Position Purpose
This incumbent provides high quality Nuclear Medicine data to the interpreting physician.This is accomplished in accordance with departmental procedures and the appropriate State and Federal regulations.
Nature and Scope
The incumbent provides Nuclear Medicine Services to patients of Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric age groups.The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to work with patients physical, motor/sensory adaptation, cognitive, and psychosocial needs specific to the population being served, and meets standards of quality as measured by the Unit/Department competency with special populations standards.
This position requires contact with physicians and nursing personnel in order to discuss patient scheduling, patient preps, and to determine the appropriate exam to be ordered.Occasionally, in the absence of the Supervisor, the incumbent must contact vendors to order radiopharmaceuticals or to arrange for repairs.The incumbent works with state-of-the-art scintillation cameras, computers, and other support equipment necessary to produce high quality, contemporary Nuclear Medicine studies.The incumbent must perform minor clerical duties and may be requested to work overtime and perform other duties as needed.Participation in the call schedule will be at the discretion of the Supervisor during times of short staffing only. This position is challenged to communicate with physicians and nursing personnel, to make accurate decisions regarding the appropriate exam necessary for the patient, and to obtain high quality data for the interpreting physician.Final decisions on equipment purchases, departmental policies and procedures, and personnel matters are reserved for the Supervisor.
This position does provide patient care.

Description
Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.
Experience:
Graduation from an approved Nuclear Medicine Program.
License(s):
State of Nevada license for Medical Radiography.
Certification(s):
Requires CNMT certification from either ARRT or NMTCB.
AHA BLS within 60 days of hire.
Computer / Typing:
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook,PowerPoint, Excel and Word andhave the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
