Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Pea Ridge Vascular and Heart

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled, compassionate, and detail-oriented Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our cardiovascular team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in nuclear cardiology procedures, including performing and analyzing myocardial perfusion studies, as well as a commitment to providing excellent patient care. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will work closely with cardiologists and other medical professionals to deliver accurate diagnostic imaging for patients with heart-related conditions.

Responsibilities:

Perform nuclear cardiology procedures, including stress tests, myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI), and SPECT imaging, to assist in the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases.Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients in accordance with established safety and protocol guidelines.Operate state-of-the-art nuclear imaging equipment to capture high-quality images of the heart and surrounding blood vessels.Ensure proper patient positioning and preparation for imaging studies to obtain optimal diagnostic results.Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare providers to assist in the interpretation of imaging results.Monitor patient reactions during and after procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort.Maintain accurate patient records, documenting all procedures, results, and radiopharmaceutical doses.Adhere to radiation safety standards and ensure proper handling and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.Perform routine quality control and maintenance on imaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality.Educate patients about the nuclear cardiology procedures and provide reassurance throughout the process.Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in nuclear cardiology technology.

Qualifications:

Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or Registered Technologist (Nuclear) RT(N).Valid WV state license.Previous experience in nuclear cardiology imaging preferred.Knowledge of nuclear medicine and radiopharmaceuticals.Strong ability to analyze and interpret nuclear images and collaborate with physicians for accurate diagnoses.BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex procedures to patients in a clear and reassuring manner.Familiarity with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.Previous experience in a cardiology practice setting.
