Main purpose of job: 
The main role of the job is to perform tasks supporting radioactive waste projects in support of business needs.  The job includes but is not limited to:

•    Perform Radioactive Waste Plant Operations
•    Waste Movements
•    Housekeeping

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

•    Radioactive Waste Plant Operations: 70 %
Carry out processing operations for numerous process plant applications involved in cementation, super-compaction, size reduction, sort and segregation, decontamination, and chemical processing. procedures.  To be flexible to work both at the Winfrith site and other sites as required. Also, flexible to work on rotas and weekends as required.

 

•    Waste Movements: 15%
Trained in forklift truck, crane driving and slinging operations, with importance placed on the waste moves, following waste loading instructions and in collaboration with the Appointed Person Lifting (APL). 

 

•    Housekeeping: 10%
Ensure all operational work areas are kept clean and tidy to the standards required of a Nuclear Licensed Site. Ensure that on completion of daily tasks that work areas are left safe, secure and tidy.

•    Highly motivated
•    Hands on attitude
•    Interpersonal skills
•    Unquestionable integrity, values, ethics and trustworthiness
•    FLT Certificate
•    Gantry crane and slinger experience (training can be given)
•    Work well under pressure and able to meet timescales
