Nuclear and PET/CT Technologist

 

 

 

Position Summary:

 

 

 

Performs all Nuclear and PET/CT imaging procedures, properly preparing and positioning patients for imaging exams.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 
Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing a variety of equipment and following prescribed procedures
Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician
Follows radiation safety techniques when disposing radioactive materials
Performs other related duties as assigned
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

   

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

 
Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine or successful completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology training program required
Current Registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required 
Current PET specialty registration with NMTCB required

   

Working Conditions:

 
Must be able to maintain a standing position
Typical equipment used in a clinical job
Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
