**Overview**
Join PNNL's Quality Division as a Quality Assurance Professional, where you can have a tangible effect on nuclear safety and operational excellence. Your role will involve implementing quality assurance processes to mitigate risk and assure compliance in nuclear operations. Adhering to ASME NQA-1, DOE O 414.1, 10 CFR 830, and other relevant requirements, you'll work with operations staff and technical teams to plan, implement, and assess the quality assurance program. Manage processes such as commercial grade dedication, corrective action, control of nonconforming items, and applying a graded approach. Be part of a team dedicated to our Lab’s mission and safety.
**Responsibilities**
+ Develop and maintain procedures in compliance with ASME NQA-1, DOE O 414.1, and 10 CFR 830 Subpart A at a Hazard Category 2 non-reactor nuclear facility.
+ Apply a graded approach in quality assurance practices specific to DOE nuclear facilities.
+ Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to foster positive working relationships.
+ Conduct assessments to assure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
+ Plan and conduct commercial grade dedication for nuclear facility components.
+ Participate in supplier source evaluations.
+ Manage corrective actions and oversee the disposition of nonconforming items to assure compliance and quality standards are met
+ Solve unique and complex problems with broad impact.
+ Lead efforts with notable risk and complexity.
+ Understand the application of the Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) and Technical Safety Requirements (TSR) and review and approve safety basis documents.
+ Provide quality assurance/quality control support to design and system engineers in the development and review of engineering design media for the facility (e.g., system/modification drawings, test procedures, work control documents).
**Qualifications**
Minimum Qualifications:
+ BS/BA and 9 years of relevant experience -OR-
+ MS/MA or higher and 7 years of relevant experience
+ Must have one year of nuclear experience
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Extensive experience with ASME NQA-1 and 10 CFR 830 Subpart A.
+ Experience in quality assurance program development, maintenance, and implementation.
+ Education in engineering, physics, or a closely related technical field.
+ Proven experience in highly regulated environments or industries with a strong Environment, Health, Safety, and Quality culture (e.g., nuclear, oil and gas, transportation, medical, pharmaceutical, aerospace, food).
+ Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
+ Education in engineering, physics, or a closely related technical field.
+ Experience planning and conducting commercial grade dedication processes.
+ Experience taking initiative or leading quality improvement projects.
+ Experience applying a graded approach in DOE nuclear facilities.
**Hazardous Working Conditions/Environment**
This position is requied to wear a dosimeter.
**Additional Information**
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.
Requirements:

+ Background Investigation: Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter in accordance with 10 CFR 710, Appendix B.
+ Drug Testing: All Security Clearance positions are Testing Designated Positions, which means that the candidate selected is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for the 12 consecutive months preceding completion of the requisite Questionnaire for National Security Positions (QNSP).
Note: Applicants will be considered ineligible for security clearance processing by the U.S. Department of Energy until non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for 12 months can be demonstrated.
**Testing Designated Position**
This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The candidate selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing for illegal drugs, including marijuana, consistent with the Controlled Substances Act and the PNNL Workplace Substance Abuse Program.

**HSPD-12 PIV Credential Requirement**
In accordance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and Department of Energy (DOE) Order 473.1A, new employees are required to obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential. To obtain this credential, new employees must successfully complete and pass a Federal Tier 1 background check investigation. This investigation includes a declaration of illegal drug activities, including use, supply, possession, or manufacture within the last year. This includes marijuana and cannabis derivatives, which are still considered illegal under federal law, regardless of state laws.
**Mandatory Requirements**

USD $140,500.00/Yr.
