Job Summary

Act as the Principal Level III in at least 1 of the following NDE Methods, Magnetic particle testing (MT) Penetrant testing (PT) Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Level III Radiographic testing (RT). Act as the Principal Level III in Ultrasonics. Responsible for the performance and oversite of all Non-Destructive examinations for both outage and online inspection activities.


Major Job Duties / Responsibilities- Principal Level III is to review and approve NDE Certifications for both PSEG and contractor personnel to ensure all code and Appendix. VIII PDI Supplement requirements have been met when performing ASME Section XI Ultrasonic examinations. Duties will include planning, preparation, schedule development and implementation of contracts required for the performance of NDE examinations. NDE Exams include but are not limited to inspections of ASME Section XI welded supports, piping welds, vessel welds and structurally welded members. Duties will also include, Data Reviews, outage milestones, action items, budget development and control, risk assessment for NDE activities- Monitoring performance of contractors during outages and making recommendations /assessments of performance as appropriate.

Job Responsibilities

•    Principal Level III, review and approve NDE certification for both PSEG and contract personnel.
•    Planning and preparation, schedule development and implementation of contracts required for the performance of NDE exams.
•    Outage milestones, action items, budget development, scope development and control, and risk assessments for NDE inspection activities.
•    Monitor performance of contractors during outages and make recommendations/assessments of performance as appropriate.
•    Ability to control work and coordinate with all station support groups.

Job Specific Qualifications

REQUIRED:
•    BS degree in Engineering, Business or related field.
•    In lieu of a degree, 10 years of experience in NDE in Nuclear commercial power plants.
•    Must be currently certified or ability to obtain NDE level III Certification within 1 year of accepting the position.
•    Must meet and maintain Nuclear’s requirements for unescorted plant access.
•    A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this job.
 
DESIRED: 
•    Previous experience providing direction and oversight to secunded examiners.
•    Previous outage experience/project administration.
•    Working knowledge of In-Service Inspection (ISI) programs, Code Job Packages and the PSEG repair program.
