Job Title: Nuclear Technologist

Job Description

As a Nuclear Technologist, you will play a critical role in the design, testing, and implementation of nuclear systems and equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring that all technical designs align with project goals and meet the necessary requirements. This position involves hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and providing technical support across various projects.

ResponsibilitiesReview and provide feedback on technical designs, drawings, and documentation to ensure alignment with project goals.Become a subject matter expert on customer processes to tailor systems and equipment effectively.Identify and mitigate technical risks through collaboration with engineers and vendors, and perform hands-on testing.Participate in design reviews with customers, vendors, and internal teams to address technical issues early.Integrate and commission systems, ensuring they operate as expected and troubleshooting any issues.Verify that final systems or equipment meet all design requirements.Create and contribute to test plans for various stages, including proof of concept, design verification, and final acceptance.Support the creation of engineering documents like Safety Risk Assessments, installation plans, and user manuals.Conduct factory and on-site testing to validate performance and document detailed reports.Provide on-site support during installation or troubleshooting.Offer technical support to global divisions to maintain consistency and quality across projects.Essential SkillsExperience with electromechanical systems, tooling systems, and automation.Proficiency in problem-solving and troubleshooting using schematics.Experience with structured testing, including writing and executing test plans with defined pass/fail criteria.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in tooling systems, nuclear experience, or heavy industrial control systems.Familiarity with codes and standards relevant to nuclear environments.Work Environment

The role requires full on-site work in Cambridge, with a typical schedule of 5 x 8-hour shifts. During integration and testing phases, shifts may increase to 5 x 10-hours and may include night shifts. You will work closely with other Nuclear Technicians in a collaborative team environment. The role may involve 1-4 month site assignments and could require working afternoon shifts for 1-2 months at a time.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
