Job Summary: The scope of practice of the Cardiology nurse occurs within the framework of the nursing process and encompasses those nursing functions which assist the members as well as support all procedures in the Cardiology department. Nursing functions are directed toward providing continuity of care for the cardiology patients. Essential Responsibilities: + Prepares patients for appointments with providers and for Nuclear Cardiology under the direction of the physician/provider. Wk 1 M/Tu/Th/Fr Wk 2 M/Tu/Fr Basic Qualifications: Experience + Two (2) years of current cardiology experience with at least one (1) year in cardiology inpatient or ambulatory environment required. + Current experience administering intravenous infusion required. Education + Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required. License, Certification, Registration + This job requires credentials from multiple states. Credentials from the primary work state are required at hire. Additional Credentials from the secondary work state(s) are required post hire. + Registered Nurse License (Maryland) within 6 months of hire AND Registered Nurse License (Virginia) within 6 months of hire OR + Compact License: Registered Nurse within 6 months of hire + Registered Nurse License (District of Columbia) within 6 months of hire + Advanced Cardiac Life Support + Basic Life Support Additional Requirements: + In order to work effectively with patients, must have effective interpersonal and communications skills and be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift at least 50 pounds, hear, speak, and see.
