**Summary:**
· Resolves problems that require an administrative decision or intervention in conjunction with hospital policies and procedures
· Collaborates with Clinical Directors, associate administrators, and departmental directors in decisions that affect patient care and hospital functioning
· Organize and facilitate nightly unit huddles for safety and quality
· Facilitate night shift Shared Governance Council
· Coordinate off shift RRT and Code teams
· Coordinate high risk rounds
· Assess all patients in restraints and one on ones for appropriateness and safety
· Facilitate survey readiness for the off shift
· Coordinate Quality and patient safety grand rounds monthly
**Skill Requirements:**
Excellent interpersonal skills & strong organizational skills.
The candidate must have working knowledge of the key quality and regulatory organizations and communication skills along with maintaining a strict confidentiality of information acquired in the course of duties.
Facilitate team or individual data collection, analysis, reporting, presentation and corrective action determination.
Manage quality improvement projects within Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Will assist staff and management in the determination of reliable, valid and measurable quality and patient safety indicators.
Serve as liaison between quality and patient safety activities and the associated data sources to assure the best practices in the simplest, most efficient manner.
Identifies regulatory obligations for QA and QC activities and assures that the organization is addressing regulatory requirements related to quality and patient safety, Identifies opportunities for continuous performance improvement.
Works with the clinical leadership to organize, design, and communicate quality and patient safety initiatives.
Serves as the key leader and facilitator of the Nursing Quality and Patient Safety Plan as it applies to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, as well as serves as the key leader and facilitator of the Nursing Quality and Patient Safety Plan for the off shift.
Utilizes process analysis to identify new and innovative approaches to quality and patient safety.
Maintains current knowledge of JCAHO standards, Dept of health regulations, and other regulatory requirements to facilitate ongoing readiness and to achieve dept survey compliance.
Partners with clinical educators to provide support relate to quality and patient safety initiatives.
Perform other position appropriate duties that may be required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
**Requirements and Minimum Experience Required:**
· Current PA State Licensure (Required)
· ACLS certified & CPR from the American Heart Association
· BSN (Required)
· MSN (Preferred)
· 5 or more years in direct patient care, 3 years hospital nursing experience
· 1 year nursing supervisory experience a must
· Inpatient Nurse Manager experience preferred Strong charge nurse experience acceptable
