Nurse Informaticist
Fairview Range is hiring a Nurse Informaticist for our Information Technology department in Hibbing, MN. As a Nurse Informaticist, you will be responsible for maintaining knowledge related to the use of the clinical electronic documentation systems. This person will plan and implement initial and ongoing education for clinical staff using the electronic medical records system. This person must have excellent communication skills and the ability to teach others how to use the clinical information systems. This person will be responsible for ongoing analysis, management and evaluation of effective and efficient use of the electronic record. This includes monitoring compliance with required documentation and promoting practices that enhance patient safety. Utilizes the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine clinical functions suitable for computer application and to ensure information systems are consistent with professional standards of clinical practice. Recommends and documents procedural changes. Consults with individuals and groups of staff as the liaison between Information Systems personnel and end-users. Schedule: This position will work 80 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8-hours. As a Nurse Informaticist, you are responsible for: Demonstrating and placing a high priority on serving internal and external customers in a timely, courteous manner. Performing comparative analysis of system design to requirements identified by users within the clinical area. Acting as a team ember to maintain various system parameter tables including clinical reference tables (ICD-9, medications, clinical knowledge base, etc.) issue enhancement logs, etc. Completing software testing as needed/directed. Assisting the informatics team with the creation of reference and course materials to be used with staff training. Assisting with the set-up of training courses to prepare staff for effective system use. Maintaining knowledge of data security and integrity while assisting with issues related to either of these within the clinical information systems. First point of contact for systems end-users for issues related to information system performance across clinical information areas. Shared responsibility for on-going support of clinical software applications with other department clinical system coordinators (i.e., Lab, Radiology, and Pharmacy). Researching, documenting, and facilitating resolutions to issues reported by end-users. Identifying system requirements in base clinical areas and assisting others as needed/directed. Required Qualifications: Degree in Nursing Minimum four years’ experience in acute care nursing utilizing a variety of automation tools (software). Minnesota Registered Nurse licensure, Certified in Health Care Informatics (CHCI), or Certified Professional in Electronic Health Records (CPEHR) Preferred Experience Master's degree in nursing One - two years’ experience working in clinical information systems area preferred. Education program experience including: program planning, coordination, implementation, evaluation, and marketing preferred.
