The Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Unit (EP-CCL) consists of two care locations as follows:

11C EP-CCL: four procedure room unit; open Monday-Friday 0645-1800 for scheduled cases and 24/7 for urgent and emergent procedures. CHH-2 MSPU: two procedure rooms within MSPU; open Monday through Thursday 0800-1600 for scheduled cases.

 

The Electrophysiology & Cardiac Cath Lab is a multi-disciplinary environment where clinical teams perform services for Infant to Geriatrics that include Coronary, Structural/Valve, Arrhythmia, Congenital, Transplant and Heart failure procedures. The team includes Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Hospital Administration, Radiologic Technologists, and ancillary support. The team supports 24/7 inpatient and outpatient Adult and Pediatric emergency procedures with two call teams.

Function/Duties of Position

 

Department Specific Responsibilities: The EP-CCL Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily operations, personnel, supplies, and equipment within the EP-CCL procedure unit. The EP-CCL Nurse Manager collaborates in dyad relationships with the Adult Interventional Medical Director, Pediatric Interventional Medical Director and the Electrophysiology Medical Director to lead operational strategy. The EP-CCL Nurse Manager role also includes assignment to the Cardiovascular Service Line Director through a dotted line reporting structure for quality and strategy related to the Heart and Vascular service line. The EP-CCL Manager also coordinates Cardiovascular RT staff and EP Technologists to the Hybrid OR for scrub and monitoring support 3 days per week.

 

Department Specific Requirements/Competencies: Associate membership in Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (obtained within 6 months of hire)

RN = 18.65 FTE (22 head count)Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist = 13.5 FTE (11 head count)                                 Electrophysiology Technologists = 5.0 FTE (5 head count)Hospital Unit Coordinator (HUC) = 1.0 (1 head count)

 

 

Required Qualifications

All Candidates:

Five years of experience as a registered nurse in a related clinical area of practice.Two years recent formal or informal management/leadership experience. Experience in complex organization environments.Ability to effectively manage multiple conflicting priorities.Proficient with word processing, computational spreadsheet (e.g., Excel), and presentation software.Professional certification in nursing leadership-Nurse Executive/Administrator within 3 years of assuming the manager role. Unencumered Oregon RN License.BLS for healthcare provider issued by the American Heart Association.

 

OHSU External Candidates: 

BSN or higher degree in nursing AND Master’s degree in nursing or related field  (e.g. MBA with Healthcare Administration concentration, Public Health)

OHSU Internal Candidates:

BSN and Master’s degree in nursing or related field  (e.g. MBA with Healthcare Administration concentration, Public Health) OR  Enrolled in nursing or related graduate program within 2 years and completion within 5 years.  Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in nursing leadershipRecent formal management experience in the related clinical area of practice Additional Details Comprehensive health care plans.
