**Position Summary:** The Nurse Manager Ambulatory (RN)- Hematology/Oncology:
+ Under the leadership of the SBU leader, the Nurse Manager Ambulatory Hematology/Oncology is responsible and accountable for the planning, organizing, directing and evaluation of clinical, administrative and operational, and regulatory/compliance activities for the assigned area. Responsible for all aspects of the operation, including but not limited to the clinical and safety practices of nurses and other members of the clinical team, professional nursing practice, leadership and professional growth, human resource management, financial performance, safety, patient and staff experience and quality improvement.
+ Direct reports include Oncology Infusion Nurses, Nurse Navigators, Physician Office Nurses, and Medical Assistants.
+ Works collaboratively with clinical trials program team to include review of open trials and patient accruals.
+ Responsible for the staffing and scheduling for the direct reports daily, including managing PTO requests.
+ Responsible for maintaining API schedules for staff and signing off per pay period.
+ Responsible for participating and supporting the morning huddle and representing the physician practices on all proactive items for smooth patient flow/care between the practice and infusion department.
+ Participates on the peer interview team for the department and makes recommendations concerning hiring decisions.
+ Participates in peer review for initial and annual clinical competencies for all practice staff.
+ Works closely with Infusion Services Charge Nurse and Practice Manager to update on any issues impeding patient care.
+ Coordinates clinical portion of orientation for all new practice associates.
+ Coordinates clinical staff in-services.
+ Leads the review of all verge items and documentation to guarantee all are researched to completion and reported up to Clinical Quality Team.
+ Oversees an auditing process that maintains highest quality and timeliness of service.
+ Maintains a strong charge reconciliation process to confirm all charges have been captured for the day prior to sending to Finance.
+ Assists with front desk patient scheduling to maximize physician schedule efficiency.
+ Leads physician clinics toward achievement of highest possible level of patient satisfaction.
Coordinates with SBU Leader & site Practice Manager of patient volumes and scheduling utilization to maintain a safe environment for care.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Experience:**
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in clinical practice as a professional nurse with related responsibility/experience in appropriate oncology/hematology specialty area.
- Leadership experience in nursing preferred.
**Education:**
- Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN), required.
- Existing incumbents as of Oct 1, 2024, must obtain BSN within 3 years of this date
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
**Licensure/Certification:**
- Current and in good standing RN Licensure with South Carolina Board of Nursing.
- American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the TH Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Organizational Development Office are approved by TH Organizational development on a case-by-case basis). BLS Recertification is required every two years.
- ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy provider card required. Oncology certification (OCN) preferred.
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
- Broad and thorough knowledge of the discipline of nursing and is a role model for professional nursing practice.
- Knowledge of current and emerging best practices, trends and technologies in the oncology clinic/infusion center.
- Strong ability to plan, organize and direct the work of others.
- Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and delegate work functions efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to create and maintain a climate for effective communication and collaborative decision making.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management and staff from all disciplines. Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork and collaboration.
- Strong understanding of safety and regulatory standards as it pertains to role.
-Basic financial budget knowledge.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities.
- Adaptability and flexibility.
- Proficiency with PC’s and Microsoft office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and prior Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.
**-** Analytical and operational problem solving/decision making skills with the ability to be innovative to make data driven decisions is required.
- The ability to be self-motivated to complete organizational projects and goals is required.
- Knowledge of LEAN and Six Sigma principles is preferred.
- Valid and in good standing driver’s license and personal transportation to be able to travel to multiple TH clinical sites required.

The employee must exert 20 to 35 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
