Nurse Manager - Cancer Services Baymeadows
Overview Under the direction of the Director Cancer Services, manage and coordinate the day-to-day clinical operations of at least two outpatient oncology clinics. Manager will assist the Director of Cancer Services with operational and capital budgets, ensuring all registration, billing, and clinical procedures comply with regulatory, accreditation and licensing requirements. Assist with clinical validation of authorizations prior to patient treatment and supervision of the patient assistance program (PAP) application process. Oversee the implementation of UF Health Policies and Procedures. Provide supervision for departmental personnel including training, recruitment, retention and termination. Represent Cancer Services at meetings and on committees as requested. Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's degree. Specific course work: Bachelor's degree in Nursing Necessary Skills: 1. Computer skills including MS PowerPoint, Project Manager, Excel/ spreadsheet skills/ Windows NT 2. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal 3. Decision-making, critical thinking 4. Supervising technical and clerical employees/ ability to organize others 5. Working knowledge of patient care processes, scheduling and staffing practices : Required Experience: Less than one (1) year supervising or managing health care services. Working knowledge of clinical/hospital operations, management of clinical and non-clinical staff and working with physicians, managers, and leaders. Preferred Experience: More than one (1) year of supervising or managing health care services. Working knowledge of clinical/hospital operations, management of clinical and non-clinical staff and working with physicians, managers, and leaders. Oncology experience preferred. Preferred Education: Master's degree in business, education, nursing, or health related field Required Licensure/Certifications: -Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida -Effective December 1, 2018, Oncology Nursing Society/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Chemotherapy Biotherapy certification required within eighteen (18) months of hire or transfer into the position -Effective January 1, 2015, all new hires or transfers must have an Oncology Nursing Certification within three years of hire or transfer. For certifications that require a specified number of cases or hours worked within the specialty, the certification must be applied for once the case/time requirement has been met, and the certification must be obtained within one year of the requirement having been met (e.g. oncology, chemotherapy, diabetes education). Incumbents in the job on December 1, 2019 will have their existing deadline extended by one year. Preferred Licensure/Certifications: N/A
