Nurse Manager - Cath Lab and Cath Recovery Area

The nurse manager for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Cath Recovery Area will assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations and oversight of the staff. The manager reports to the Director of the Cardiovascular Service Line and works collaboratively with the Medical Director and all areas of Cardiology to support a high-quality and cost-effective program. The nurse manager will collaborate with the Director of the Cardiovascular Service Line and Medical Director to ensure ongoing staff education, competencies, achievement of accreditations, and meet governing and regulatory requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

He/she may serve as designee for the Director, Cardiac Cath Lab in his/her absence Directs/ delegates staff by correlating patient needs with established standards of care and appropriate level of personnel to ensure an effective operation of the unit. Possess skills and knowledge to perform treatment for anxiety or pain utilizing the conscious sedation policy and procedure Demonstrates a commitment to professional behavior, growth and competence to ensure the patient receives the quality health care. Accountability for Personnel Management Assists the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab with recruitment, interviewing, and hiring process. Participates in the development of a unit-based orientation and annual competency program. Assists the Director to ensure staff competency by providing positive feedback and/ or counseling on and ongoing basis. Utilizes hospital and nursing division policies as well as the department policies in managing personnel. Responsible for recommending and caring out disciplinary action pertaining to department staff after collaboration with HR business partner and Director. Empower staff to strive for continuous quality improvement individually and as a unit. Provides support and assistance to all levels of hospital personnel to help each employee reach his/ her growth potential. Responsible for following all organization and department policies and procedures in performance of all job duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Responsible for oversight of staff scheduling. Responsible for annual employee performance previews.

 

EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree is required. Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the state of Massachusetts. Current BLS and ACLS certification required. Minimum of five years Cardiac Cath Lab experience with qualifications in PCI Demonstrated skills required in patient care, leadership, and interpersonal relationships. Strong written and verbal skills. Intermediate ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service in a manner that is reflective of the hospital mission, vision and value
