Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director and Vice President, the Nurse Manager is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating and supervising activities associated with patient care on assigned patient care department(s) where nursing care is delivered. This includes establishing, maintaining, and evaluating standards of care and assuming responsibility for staff development, environmental, human resource and fiscal management.

22-bed unit at a top 100 hospital Certified for Stroke and Heart Attack care Complex neuro patients treated in ICU

Department Highlights:

BLS, ACLS, and Essential Critical Care Orientation (ECCO) completion. Provides critical care for patients with cardiac, neurological, surgical, and medical needs. Specializes in patients with complex cardiac, renal, and neurological conditions requiring: Open Heart Surgery Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) Ventriculostomy

Work Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE – Daytime departmental needs.

Required Qualifications: 

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or AD in Nursing and Baccalaureate degree in related field required.  Four years of acute care RN experience with two years in a nursing leadership position, e.g., Assistant Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, Administrative Nursing Supervisor, or other leadership experience. Quality Improvement experience (Unit Based Quality Team, committee experience, and/or specific quality improvement project participation) Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Familiarity with/awareness of equipment used in patient care may include but is not limited to syringes, IV poles, suction machines, BP equipment, stethoscope, feeding pumps, IV pumps, catheter tubes, heating/cooling devices, restraints, computers, wheelchairs, carts, scales, commodes, beds (regular and alternative), shower chairs, Hoyer lift, audiovisual equipment, oximeter's, call lights, Vocera, pagers, Pyxis medication dispensing systems, telemetry battery packs, cardiac monitors, and surgical equipment. Computer, fax, printer, copy machine, telephone and other office machines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: Master’s preferred Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: National (ANA) certification in Management, or clinical nursing specialty preferred.
