Regions Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Manager to join the leadership team for our Medical Progressive Care Unit. The Medical Progressive Care unit is a 16-bed unit that has a population of patients with medical diagnoses requiring progressive care services such as respiratory failure, sepsis/shock states, gastrointestinal complications, liver failure, renal failure, pharmacologic overdoses, alcohol withdrawal, psychiatric and endocrine emergencies.
Under the direction of the Director and Vice President, the Nurse Manager is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating and supervising activities associated with patient care. This includes establishing, maintaining and evaluating standards of care and assuming responsibility for staff development, environmental, human resource and fiscal management.
Work Schedule: 1.0 FTE; Monday-Friday, day hours with variable start times. 24/7 accountability with ability to take phone calls on off shifts to support patient care issues as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, or AD in Nursing and Baccalaureate degree in a related field,
AND
Master’s degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Education, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Life Sciences (e.g. Chemistry)
OR
Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program with an established date of completion.
Experience:
Four (4) years (8,320 hours) acute care RN experience with two (2) years (4160 hours) in a nursing leadership position, e.g. Assistant Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse.
Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota.
Demonstrates at the time of employment and every two years thereafter, competency in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
