The Nurse Manager directs and coordinates all activities of the patient care unit including: * plans, implements, and evaluates unit programs to meet specific patient care needs, * selects and supervises unit staff, * plans and manages the unit budget, and * provides leadership to promote professional practice. The Nurse Manager represents the unit staff and provides leadership in the Division of Nursing and the Medical Center as a whole through participation in the decision-making process, support, and development of policies and programs. Major responsibilities include patient care management; quality assessment and improvement; safety; personnel management; team building & communications; financial management; leadership; and professional development. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required. Several years progressively responsible professional nursing experience required including acute care or critical care. Requires at least one year in a supervisory position such as Assistant Nurse Manager or Nurse Manager (or higher level management role). Desired: National nursing specialty certification desirable.
