**Overview** The Carrier Clinic Nurse Practitioner per diem assists with open shifts during week and weekend. Provide psychiatric and medical care to patientsand residents of Carrier Clinic. Conforms to performance improvement standards of patient care as established through Carrier Policies andProcedures. Provides professional representation of Carrier to other health professionals, community agencies, and the lay public.Psychiatry experience prescribing meds for at least 1 year required. **Responsibilities** 1.Provide psychiatric and medical treatment to inpatients on the unit to which they are assigned 2.Follows all EMTALA regulations and the Facility requirements concerning EMTALA 3.Completion of a daily progress note including mental health status and diagnosis 4.Completion of medication orders, status,laboratory tests,diets,etc. as needed 5.Completes all documentation/orders as required with timeliness and quality including delinquencies and incident reporting 6.Documentation of unusual incidents 7.Progress note documentation for patients requiring special monitoring, e.g. suicide precautions, seclusion or restraints 8.Reviews laboratory results and documents timely 9.Consultation/liaison with Nursing Supervisor, as needed 10.Responds to nursing requests as needed 11.Assures that all Medical Clearances are completed in a timely and efficient manner when covering Access shifts. 12.Responds to Utlization Management Documentation requests efficiently and timely 13.Adherence to performance improvement protocols including clinical pathways 14.Returning all patient and family phone calls as needed on a timely basis 15.Required to respond to calls/pages 16.Adheres to timekeeping and payroll policies 17.Reliable and on time to all scheduled rounding coverage 18.Other duties and/or projects as assigned 19.Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior **Qualifications** + Graduate of an approved APN Program + Interacts well with patients,visitors and Facility staff, responding promptly to inquiries with tact and sensitivity + Demonstrates a courteous, cooperative,pleasant and positive attitude + Maintains strict standards of confidentiality + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms + APN License + Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification or Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner CertificationAHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification or completed in the first 90 days of employment + Psychiatry experience prescribing meds for at least 1 year required. **Job ID** _2024-155887_ **Department** _Carrier Clinic - PE_ **Site** _HMHMG Specialty Care 570_ **Job Location** _US-NJ-Belle Mead_ **Position Type** _Per Diem_ **Standard Hours Per Week** _4_ **Shift** _Weekend Day_ **Shift Hours** _varies_ **Weekend Work** _Weekends as Needed_ **On Call Work** _No On-Call Required_ **Holiday Work** _As Needed_
