Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), a well-respected, nationally recognized and award-winning public healthcare system is seeking a per diem Clinical Specialist II (APRN) to join our team. CHA is comprised of three Hospital campuses and an integrated network of both primary and specialty outpatient care practices in Cambridge, Somerville and Boston’s Metro North Region, with a fully integrated electronic medical record system (EPIC). The CHA Department of Psychiatry is recognized as a leader in patient care, teaching and research.

Cambridge Health Alliance is expanding services to address substance use disorders for its patients and communities. We are opening a low barrier and harm reduction clinic at The Cambridge Hospital to provide treatment for patients who need immediate attention and who could benefit from additional clinical services. The program will be multidisciplinary and interdepartmental, and collaborate with other departments throughout Cambridge Health Alliance and with our community partners in order to meet the needs of our patients with substance use disorders.

24 Hours/week; Days/Evenings, MNA Cambridge UnionProvide evaluations and treatment for an assigned caseload of clients providing a range of psychosocial care.Facilitate clinical coordination of admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure a smooth patient flow.Perform clinical assessments and evaluations.Demonstrate expertise in a variety of clinical modalities.Plan, implement, and revise treatment in consultation with multidisciplinary team and with community agencies as appropriate. Function as team leader in multi-disciplinary team discussion regarding treatment planning, treatment review, quality assurance and utilization review function/procedures.Administers medication according to nursing policy and procedure.Communicate effectively with management, peers, and health team members.Interact effectively with patients, families, and/or significant others.Adapt to change in a positive professional manner.Maintain current Basic Life Support “C” Certification and certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing by the American Nursing Association.

Ideal Candidates will have 2 years of experience in the advanced practice role and must be a graduate of an accredited National League of Nursing graduate school of nursing. Master’s degree (Nursing preferred) with a specialization in psychiatric mental health nursing or relevant clinical area. Current Massachusetts licensure is required authorizing practice in an expanded role as a Psychiatric Nurse Clinical Specialist and authorization including prescriptive authority.
